B.o.B – So Good Video

I like this video for a few reasons…

1) It reminds us that rap music can be fun, adventurous, loving, intimate and playful without being thuggish and violent, or disrespectful to women.

2) I think that’s Tessa Thompson in the video and I’d LOVE to make a movie with her. [mark my words, now that I've put it out there, some famous director is going to put her in a movie and she's going to blow up!]

3) These mofo did some serious traveling around the world to make this video!

4) If you have a Nintendo 3DS, you can download the video in 3D.

The Apocalypse, a Script and Beer Pong

Very busy week last week!

I’ve been working on a script with my friend Jim Rhodimer on Apocalyptic Playground, a steampunk sci-fi project, which we’re crowdfunding on Indiegogo here: http://www.indiegogo.com/apocalyptic-playground. to make it easier to collaborate since Jim has already written two-thirds of the script, I’ve taken the lead on  two of the subplots. One plot has religious implications the other has military implications — both are right up my alley.

Saturday we shot several promos for the Indiegogo campaign. They turned out to be super good! Here are the links on Youtube. Feel free to pass them along:

Here’s a picture from the shoot:

Earlier in the week I attended a fundraiser for the film project, House of Color, which also has an Indiegogo campaign. You can find it here:

The fundraiser was held at a bar called South in Santa Monica and they sponsored a beer pong tournament. Beer pong is a drinking game in which players throw a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in a cup of beer on the other end.

Earlier in the week I started red pen proofing of my script, Legend of Black Lotus  after I finished onscreen edits and printed a hardcopy. I’m halfway through. Here’s the pic:

Rebranding and rebuilding my YouTube Channel (Hollywoodcity, The Pulse!)

I’ve spent the last 48 hours conducting a rapid overhaul of my YouTube Channel. It’s not so much out with the old and in with the new as it is a reorganization to take advantage of YouTube’s new structure for Channels.

Hollywoodcity’s The Pulse  is the new name for my channel that breaks down my trailers, my short films, video clips and my webisodes of my films Broken Hearts Club,  Sex Shoes & Unicorns, and the complete film, The Nanny and the Professional. There are over 65 videos to watch, spanning the last ten years.

Come visit The Pulse today!
